the teaching bug

Esmeralda's preschool class did a lot of learning about bugs and insects this last school year. One of the things they learned was this really cute song about the parts of an insect. The other night we found this big bug on our sliding glass door and she pulled a stool over and started going through the song and pointing out the parts as she sang the song and counting the legs. So I picked up the camera and asked her to sing it again. Of course she was a little embarrassed so she didn't point out the parts, but she did sing it again for me. Thanks to teacher Casey for teaching her this song and the parts of an insect.

It's raining ice cubes!!

This was the cutest thing. A few weeks ago we had some crazy weather at our house. Hot and sunny, like bathing suit and pool hot (to a 4 year old), then it clouded up, then rained and then it hailed. Or, acording to Esmeralda, "It's raining ice cubes, mom!!" (it's hard to see, but there are little white dots of hail in the yard, about the size of cocoa puffs)

Dancing Queen

This is Esmeralda doing a bunch of different dances...mostlynamed by the adults in the room. There's the armpit-jab, the b*tch-slap, the hoopa-a-loop (aka hula hoop) and the foot dance. Enjoy this crazy kid and her and fantastic dance moves!
